Izstāde “Gladiolas 2019”

Latvijas Dabas muzejā notika tradicionālā gladiolu izstāde, kas tapusi sadarbībā ar Latvijas Gladiolu un īrisu biedrību un kurā bija apskatāmas vairāk nekā 180 ziedu šķirnes un to hibrīdi. Gladiolas ir pateicīgi ziedi, tie labi aug dažāda sastāva augsnēs, piedod mēslošanas kļūdas, spēj izturēt gan pārmērīgu sausumu, gan paaugstinātu mitrumu. To ziediem ir ļoti plašs pielietojums – tos var izmantot gan pušķos, gan kompozīciju veidošanā, kas īpaši piemērotas plašām telpām. Regulāri noņemot vecos ziedus, gladiolas savu krāšņumu saglabā ļoti ilgi, jo tām izplaukst visi pumpuri līdz pat vārpas galam.

Šogad izstādē tika atzīmēta Latvijas Gladiolu un īrisu biedrības 25 gadu pastāvēšanas jubileja. Kā pastāstīja biedrības ilggadējais biedrs un viens no tās dibinātājiem Laimonis Zaķis, „par godu skaistajiem svētkiem kā izstādes vadmotīvu esam izvēlējušies Latvijas selekciju un selekcionāru darbu”. Gladiolu dažādību piedāvāja apskatīt Ilze un Juris Ancāni, Juris Bāze, Visvaldis Vinķelis, Laimonis Zaķis, Aija Stūrīte, Agra Straumane, Dace un Raimonds Puriņi, kā arī tika prezentētas Aleksandra Muhlinkina un Jāņa Dipāna selekcionētās šķirnes.
