17.jūnijā ap pulksten 13.00 Valsts policijas Kurzemes reģiona pārvaldes Satiksmes uzraudzības rotas amatpersonas, patrulējot Nīcas novadā, Nīcas pagastā ar netrafarēto automašīnu, fiksēja ātrumpārkāpēju, kurš, pabrauca garām policijas automašīnai vēl ar atļauto ātrumu, taču strauji to palielināja līdz vienā brīdī radars uztvēra ātrumu 169 kilometri stundā. Tajā brīdī likumsargi, ieslēdzot skaņas un gaismas signālu, centās ātrumpārkāpēju panākt, kas arī izdevās. 

Pie automašīnas Mercedes-Benz stūres atradās Lietuvas pilsonis, kurš saprata savu pārkāpumu un nepretojās policijas darbiniekiem, vien piebilda, ka ļoti steidzās, jo viņam bija sarunāts noteikts laiks, kad jāierodas Liepājā. Šāda steigšanās vīrietim izmaksās 400 eiro un transportlīdzekļa vadīšanas tiesību atņemšanu uz 6 mēnešiem. 

Valsts policija aicina vadītājus nebūt pārgalvīgiem un atcerēties, ka atļautā braukšanas ātruma pārsniegšana, kā arī citu ceļu satiksmes noteikumu prasību neievērošana apdraud ne tikai paša transportlīdzekļa vadītāja, bet arī citu ceļu satiksmes dalībnieku drošību un veselību.
