Aizdomās par 30 latu kukuļa pieprasīšanu un pieņemšanu aizturēts Valsts policijas Rīgas reģiona pārvaldes Ceļu policijas bataljona jaunākais inspektors, kurš naudu pieprasīja, lai netiktu sastādīts administratīvā pārkāpuma protokols par ātruma pārsniegšanu.

Par notikušo ir uzsākts kriminālprocess pēc Krimināllikuma 320. panta 3.daļas, par šādu noziegumu likumā ir paredzēts sods – brīvības atņemšana uz laiku līdz desmit gadiem, konfiscējot mantu vai bez mantas konfiskācijas un atņemot tiesības un noteiktu nodarbošanos vai tiesības ieņemt noteiktu amatu uz laiku līdz pieciem gadiem. Šobrīd kriminālprocesā turpinās pirmstiesas izmeklēšana.

Valsts policija atgādina, ka cīņā ar korupciju uz ceļiem policija īpašu uzmanību pievērš kukuļņēmēju noskaidrošanai un aizturēšanai, tāpat policija arī strādā kukuļdevēju apkarošanā.
