Valsts prezidents pauž gandarījumu par kvalitatīvi uzsākto valsts aizsardzības dienestu

7. augustā Valsts prezidents Edgars Rinkēvičs Rīgas pilī tikās ar aizsardzības ministri Ināru Mūrnieci, lai pārrunātu aktuālos valsts drošības un aizsardzības jautājumus.

“Augstu novērtēju pirmos rezultātus, atsaucību un Nacionālo bruņoto spēku spēju kvalitatīvi nodrošināt mūsu iesauktajiem jauniešiem teicamus valsts aizsardzības dienesta apstākļus un apmācību programmu. Vēlos īpaši pateikties pirmajiem valsts aizsardzības dienestā iesauktajiem jauniešiem, kuri brīvprātīgi ir atsaukušies dienestam. Ceru, ka ieliktie pamati būs labs pamudinājums arī citiem jauniešiem atsaukties un pieteikties valsts aizsardzības dienestā. Tāpat guvu pārliecību par Nacionālo bruņoto spēku pastiprinātu sadarbību ar Valsts robežsardzi, kas kopā ar NATO sabiedroto vienību karavīriem Latvijā ir gatava jebkurā diennakts laikā sniegt visu nepieciešamo atbalstu uz mūsu Latvijas un tādējādi arī uz NATO ārējās robežas,” pēc tikšanās teica Valsts prezidents E. Rinkēvičs.

Valsts prezidents pauda gandarījumu par Kanādas vadītās NATO paplašinātās klātbūtnes kaujas grupas Latvijā palielināšanu no bataljona līdz brigādes līmenim. Kā ļoti taustāms solis tam būs rudenī Kanādas spēku papildinājums ar 15 “Leopard” tanku vienībām.

Tikšanās laikā puses pārrunāja ar Sēlijas militārā poligona izbūvi saistītus jautājumus un militārās industrijas attīstību Latvijā.
