Saeima Latvijas Bankas prezidenta amatā atkārtoti ievēl Mārtiņu Kazāku

Saeima ceturtdien, 6.februārī, Latvijas Bankas prezidenta amatā atkārtoti ievēlēja Mārtiņu Kazāku. Par M.Kazāku balsoja 67 deputāti, pret – 18, bet atturējās 4 deputāti. M.Kazāks no 2019.gada 21.decembra jau pildīja Latvijas Bankas prezidenta amata pienākumus, un jauna kandidatūra bija jāizvirza, jo pagājušā gada 21.decembrī M.Kazākam beidzās pirmais amata pilnvaru termiņš.

Iepriekš M.Kazāks bijis arī Latvijas Bankas padomes loceklis, kā arī AS “Swedbank” galvenais ekonomists un Fiskālās disciplīnas padomes biedrs. M.Kazākam ir Latvijas Universitātē iegūts bakalaura grāds ekonomikā, kā arī maģistra un doktora grāds ekonomikā Londonas Universitātē un diploms ekonomikā Kembridžas Universitātē.

Likums „Par Latvijas Banku” noteic, ka bankas prezidentu ievēlē Saeima pēc ne mazāk kā desmit Saeimas deputātu ierosinājuma. 

M.Kazāks Latvijas Bankas amata pienākumus sāks pildīt šodien, 6.februārī.
