Rīgas Jaunciema pamatskolā ir izveidota īpaša vieta ar krēsliem kuros var ērti iekārtoties un brīvā brīdī lasīt savas iemīļotākās grāmatas. Lasīšanas stūrītis izveidots, lai bērnus vairāk pievērstu regulārākai grāmatu lasīšanai, uzlabotu valodas krājumu un lasītprasmi.

Šogad Latvijā tiek atzīmēta latviešu grāmatniecības piecsimtgade, kā arī Rīgas dome un Latvijas Nacionālā bibliotēka (LNB) parakstījusi beztermiņa sadarbības līgumu. Par godu šiem notikumiem Rīgas pašvaldība aicina skolas veicināt skolēnu lasītprasmi skolās. Galvaspilsēta aicina arī citās Rīgas skolās veidot lasīšanas stūrīšus, lai katrā izglītības iestādē bērniem būtu vieta, kur apsēsties un paņemt rokās interesantu grāmatu. Jau šobrīd daudzās skolās tiek ieviests aizliegums izmantot mobilos tālruņus un šī iniciatīva ir kā lieliska alternatīva citai nodarbei starpbrīžos.

“Nevajag baidīties no grāmatām, kaut arī tā izskatās bieza, liela, un tās krāsainās vāks ne par velti ir krāsains. Lasot grāmatas tu iekļūsti kādā piedzīvojumā, nedari citas lietas. Lasīšana tev pavērs daudz bagātāku vārdu krājumu un atļaus tev iekļūt kādā fantāziju pasaulē,“ iedrošinot lasīt grāmatas saka Rīgas Jaunciema pamatskolas 3. klases audzinātāja Marta Ķiepe-Kipge.
